GROOT SLEUTELFONTEIN is a 10 500 hectare farm in the Great Karoo located 45 kilometers from the picturesque Victorian town of Prince Albert.
The Meyer family acquired the original sheep farm in 2006 and developed it into the pristine game reserve that it is today. The farm is an ecotourism hotspot and also has wildlife hunting and breeding facilities. There is a fully operational lodge onsite and a host of exciting activities are available daily.
Owner, Johan Meyer had the initial vision of bringing various wildlife species with exceptional genetics into the Western Cape. Over the years he has built up impressive stocks using the most outstanding bloodlines in South Africa, new genes are introduced into the different herds every year.
All animals on the farm are Karoo adapted and special emphasis is placed on the nutritional health of each animal. Johan believes that a successful game farm is built on integrity and that is why meticulous and transparent record keeping is an integral part of the breeding process. Breeding species include sable, roan, Kalahari springbok and many more.
